Risk Factors of Crashes Involving Motorcycles in Sri Lanka

Motorcycle is among the most popular and important modes of land transportation in tropical developing countries like Sri Lanka. Yet, research on effect motorcycles traffic safety Lanka limited. Investigation risk factors contributory causes motorcycle crashes using data sourced from Police records was objective this research. Police-reported crash contain details at all severity levels that got reported, together with their corresponding different conditions, including environment, roadway, rider, vehicle characteristics, throughout country. Investigating odds-ratios, for could be identified potential counter-measures to improve safety. In Lanka, during 2009-2013, more than 200,000 have been reported.
